Editorial Policy
Our approach to useful, original and safety-conscious appliance information.
Purpose of our articles
ApplianceProX publishes practical articles that help readers understand appliance symptoms, routine care, purchasing choices and the information to collect before requesting service. Articles are educational. They do not replace the instructions supplied with a specific appliance, an on-site diagnosis or advice from a qualified professional.
How topics are selected
We prioritise common questions that can be answered responsibly without encouraging unsafe repair. A useful topic should help a reader make a decision, perform a manufacturer-approved user task, recognise a warning sign or communicate a fault clearly. We avoid creating articles only to repeat a keyword or location name.
Originality and writing standards
- Each article is written for ApplianceProX and organised around a specific reader problem.
- We do not copy manufacturer manuals, competing websites or third-party articles.
- Technical terms are explained in plain language and the limits of home troubleshooting are stated.
- Headlines should describe the content accurately and should not promise a guaranteed repair or saving.
- Word count is not used as a substitute for usefulness; repetition and filler should be removed.
Sources and model-specific information
Appliance designs and maintenance requirements vary. Readers are directed to the manual, energy label, safety notice or warranty supplied by the manufacturer for model-specific instructions. When an article discusses food safety, water safety, electrical work, refrigerant, gas, pressure or another regulated subject, general information is presented conservatively and readers are told when qualified assistance or an authoritative local source is necessary.
Safety review
Articles distinguish between external observations and internal repair. We do not instruct readers to bypass interlocks, breakers, thermostats, pressure devices or other safety components. We do not recommend opening microwave high-voltage areas, handling refrigerant without training, working on live wiring, defeating appliance locks or using unsafe chemical combinations. A warning is included when a symptom may create electrical, fire, pressure, scalding, contamination or food-safety risk.
Dates, updates and corrections
Blog pages display publication and update dates. An article may be revised when we improve clarity, correct an error, add an important warning or reflect a material change in commonly available appliance technology. Minor spelling or layout changes may not result in a new update date.
If a factual error is identified, we aim to correct the article promptly and update the page where the change materially affects the guidance. Readers can report a concern through the contact page or by emailing support@applianceprox.com with the article title and a clear description of the issue.
Commercial and advertising separation
Advertising does not determine article conclusions. If advertising is enabled, ad units will be labelled and visually separated from editorial content. A service call-to-action may appear beside an article, but the article should still provide useful information without requiring a booking. Sponsored or affiliate content, if introduced in the future, will be disclosed clearly.
Service information and claims
Service availability, estimates, response times, parts and warranty conditions can vary by booking. Editorial pages should not present unverified customer counts, ratings, technician numbers, partnerships or guarantees. Any business claim added later should be supported by current records and presented with enough context to understand it.
Reader responsibility
Before following a maintenance step, readers should identify the exact appliance, review its manual and consider whether the task can be completed safely. Stop using equipment that is sparking, smoking, overheating, leaking near electrical parts, releasing gas or refrigerant, repeatedly tripping protection or showing structural damage.
